elegance x la squadra // scotland
Let’s head to Scotland for this very promising road trip. Whisky tastings, breathtaking scenery, bagpipes, sheep, shooting – all the ingredients are there to experience the very best of Scotland! Oh, I almost forgot the most important thing… the rain, of course!
day ii // today's rain is tomorrow's whisky
Rain and fog accompanied us throughout this second day, hiding some of the typical local scenery from view. We headed for the Speyside, a region famous for its whisky production, where we were able to discover the art of distillation, followed by a visit to the famous Loch Ness, before spending the night in the village of Dornoch.
day iii // road to kylesku
Weaving our way through heavy rain and sunny patches, we travelled across lakes and mountains to the northernmost point of our journey, the famous Kylesku Bridge. The region offers truly stunning scenery; away from the tourist areas, it’s incredibly peaceful and calming. And To round off what has been a rather wet day on the whole, a whisky tasting is most welcome.
day iv // Orphans always make the best recruits
How could you go on a road trip in Scotland without visiting one of the country’s most famous film locations? I’m talking, of course, about James Bond and the movie Skyfall, in which one of the scenes featuring the famous Aston Martin DB5 was filmed at Glen Coe. Another day of alternating heavy rain and sunshine marks the end of our road trip with this visit to Skyfall!
